Changing Technology

In last weeks chapter 1 textbook reading,  I became very intrigued at the part in the textbook that described how much technology in schools has changed over time. These changes in technology included the look of the technology, what it was used for, how much of it was in the classroom, and what students were and were not allowed to use. This resonated with me because I can recall this change in technology during my schooling. I can recall being in elementary school and having to travel to the computer lab just to type an assignment or to play a digital game. I remember also only having a few printers in the computer lab. The computers we used were large Mac computers that came in different colors (think of a Mac from 2004 or 2005). To then upgrading to the white Mac computers (think of the 2006 or 2007 model). I was in a higher elementary grade still visiting the computer lab when needing the internet, and now with the ability to use your computer to record a video. As I was getting ready to graduate high school, the latest model of Apple computers were being used and we even had Ipads available for students. In 2018, Chrome books are now widely used in classrooms by every student; with full access to the internet in their pocket and in the classroom. With technology now being a mandatory part of the classroom, it is a necessity to use it in lessons.
