Puzzle Maker Fun!


I used a maze because it is a challenging activity for all students to use. It requires them to get their brain focused and working! I chose the maze to represent a social studies theme. George Washington crossing the Delaware River is a concept we teach in social studies classrooms! If I were to change something, I would like to add images to the maze! I would have a "start here" spot that depicts George Washington on a boat. I would also put small obstacles in the maze such as British Troops, money, and the colonists; all obstacles that were faced by him during the war! It is a fun way to jog students memory about the event without them really even realizing!

LOCK IT UP!!!!!

 When I look at this picture, the first word that comes to my mind is: Chaotic. This image seems to be a dangers of the internet image. Its a combination of all the things that you need to do to protect yourself from the online world. Without being cautious, your information could be leaked to the entire online world without your knowledge.  It is important to always keep your files locked and under passwords. With the technology we have in this day and age, hackers can easily penetrate into your files to access your information. NEVER keep your personal information in a place that is easy to access! As teachers, our job is to keep our students safe. By teaching them the dangers of PowerPoint and of the web, we are giving them the information they need to know to be smart online users.

WoW Project

The Web of Wonders project was a thought-provoking and eye-opening experience that was not only served to educate others but also educate myself as I was creating it. I chose to do my Social Studies tutorial-style project because I wanted to find outlets of technology to use for myself, and I wanted to show others how they can use it in the classroom as well. I chose to use Powtoon because it is a fun and visually pleasing presentation site. There are so many different things to do on Powtoon and unique ways to present the information you are trying to convey. I again used Screencast-o-Matic to narrate through my presentation to go into more details on the technologies I was discussing in my slides. I also enjoyed seeing all of the creative things my classmates were able to create. It was interesting for me to see what everyone came up with and what they took away from the course.
