Learning to CHANGE-Changing to LEARN

Learning to change, Changing to Learn is an eye opening video that talks about how our students and education system is beginning to change. Students in 2018 have gotten extremely comfortable with technology use. These students have had access to this technology right from the palm of their hands for most of their lives. The video starts out with making the point that students are often banned from using their technology in the classroom. Media platforms, electronic devices, and mobile devices are banned and taken away from students during the school day. Instead of spending time trying to keep the cell phone problem at bay, we can utilize the mobile devices AND social media as productive forms of classroom activity. Many teachers use social media as ways to teach their classes. teachers can make social media counts that directly relate to instruction; such as a classroom twitter account or Facebook page. If we are going to discourage students from using what they know how to use, then how can we educate them properly? Teachers need to keep open minds, and RESEARCH to figure out what ways to best integrate technology into their classrooms. It is the best way for students to get the full classroom experience, keep them engaged, and open their horizons to new ways of learning.
